Would you like to teach German as a foreign language at the Goethe-Institut, but have no teaching experience? The Goethe-Institut is inviting suitable applicants for a training programme that will run from 1 March \u2013 31 December 2024<\/strong> and that will focus on:<\/p>\n

Programme Outline: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
• B2 \u2013 C1 German online language course: 1 March \u2013 31 October 2024<\/li>\n
• Supervised observation of German lessons and preparation of small teaching units at a Goethe-Institut in Sub-Saharan Africa: 1 March \u2013 31 December 2024<\/li>\n
• Assisting as a tutor in the self-learning centre if required at a Goethe-Institut in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li>\n
• 2 Evaluated demonstration lessons at a Goethe-Institut in Sub-Saharan Africa<\/li>\n
• Online training in didactics and teaching methodology: 12 modules<\/li>\n
• Training and accreditation as A1 \u2013 A2 Goethe-examiner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Requirements: <\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • BA Degree in German Studies, Linguistics, another language or a comparable degree<\/li>\n
  • Proof of a very good B1 German language proficiency<\/li>\n
  • Full-time availability for the duration of the programme<\/li>\n
  • Above-average commitment, considering the scope and duration of the programme<\/li>\n
  • Openness to new teaching methods, especially digital tools and online learning<\/li>\n
  • Ability to work in a team, intercultural competence, diligence, resilience and reliability<\/li>\n
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in the evening and also on weekends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
