The Pre-integration Program, co-financed by the European Union, hosted a four-day event from
19 June – 22 June 2024 at the Zimbabwe German Society/ Goethe Zentrum Harare.
The event was facilitated by Sandra Strahjans (Project Coordinator at Goethe-Institut
Johannesburg and the main organizer of the Pre-Integration Program in Sub-Sahara Africa) she
was accompanied by Philina Wittke from the Goethe-Institut Johannesburg and with the help of
Wellington Chikengezha a German Teacher at ZGS/GZH and an intercultural Trainer of the
Pre-Integration Program.
The events included strategic meetings with the German Embassy in Zimbabwe regarding the
visa application process for Apprenticeships and meetings with German Language schools in
Harare. The vibrant events included walk-in consultations, where the students had the chance
to receive advice directly from Sandra regarding their visa processes. Philina and Wellington
also hosted an intriguing intercultural course, module one, about identifying yourself in
numerous spaces on June 21st and 22nd.
